We are currently seeking both entry-level and experienced Deckhands to join our team.
As a Deckhand, you will assist in preparing barges and equipment for loading and unloading various cargoes in a marine environment.
This role requires rotational shift work and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities Handling lines and cables to tie/untie crane rigs to and from barges/vessels Inspecting cables and various rigging components of the crane deck Performing minor maintenance on equipment and machinery Providing directional signals to crane operators Lubricating crane buckets Assisting in drafting barges Opening/Closing barge covers General rigging and shifting of barges Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards on decks, barges, and ship holds Fueling equipment and cranes as necessary Performing general upkeep of the crane rig Reporting all incidents through company's reporting protocol Supporting company safety initiatives Qualifications Ability to work in a team atmosphere Willingness to work in all weather conditions Ability to handle physical labor and work with hand tools Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures Benefits Competitive Benefits including paid holidays and vacation Training Provided All PPE including boots and uniforms provided Work/Life Balance Work Schedule Great 401K Plan Company Sponsored Life Policy Work Environment The incumbent will work in all weather conditions and at different elevations.
